Notes:

1* denotes the Winter Solstice (Yule), when the Sun Goddess's light is rekindled.
1# denotes the Spring Equinox.
1+ denotes the Summer Solstice.
1- denotes the Autumn Equinox.

The days of the week are named after the two lights in the sky and the Elements. In order, they're Sunday, Moonday, Airday, Fireday, Waterday, and Earthday.

The other great festivals of the year that correspond to the spokes of the Solar cycle take place on Gloomlight 15 (Candlemas), Stormwater 15 (Beltaine), Brightsun 15 (Lammas) and Harvest 15 (Samhain).

The new moon always takes place on the first of a month. The first quarter always takes place on the eighth, the full moon on the sixteenth and the last quarter always on the twenty-third of the month.

Perhaps reflective of the harmony of the Creation of the Sun Goddess, the Aizvaryan year is exactly 360 days, with the lunar cycle exactly 30 days. Thus compared to Terra, Aizvarya enjoys a perpetual calendar always in step with the physical seasons of the year. Sun and moon, however, would appear very familiar to a Terran suddenly dropped upon the surface of the Empire of the Lotus; the lamp of the Sun Goddess is as gold as Sol and the Heavenly Mirror looms as large in the Aizvaryan sky as Luna does for humans.
