::Di smiles, leading you into a place that has a hushed atmosphere and resembles something of a mausoleum. As you stand there, you feel different, somehow, as if you were in some way less solid than before:: Beyond the solid, comfortable and predictable physical universe, there's another place built of shadows and dreams. All creatures of sentient intelligence contribute to this realm, called collectively "The Dream", but it too is a reflection of the inherent duality of existence. And like the physical bounds of Space, the Dream too can be disrupted in the weave of its existence.

The Vortex Mirror sees to the wholeness of this fluid realm where anything is possible at any given time just as it sees to the wholeness of the Static, the physical Cosmos we humans know so well. In this place you will meet those Gemlords who travel in the universe created from the dreams and nightmares of the intelligent races of the Cosmos.

The Dreamer Binding

Like the Cornerstone Binding that is the heart and soul of Lithos, this Binding is the one that represents the most powerful essences to oversee the integrity of the Dream. These five are those who represent the forces of Light and creativity, the active principles of the five Elements as they apply to the ever-changing, ever-shifting reality of the Dream.

The Nightmare Binding

As every Light has its Dark, and every active and creative principle has its passive and destructive counterpart, the Dreamer Binding is balanced by these five. The power of the Elements and Nightmares are at their fingertips, helping maintain the balance that is essential to keep the Dream as stable as such a place can get. Interestingly enough, this Binding has only just come into awareness of itself, and includes Gemlords who have long been acknowledged as undesirable or shady characters within Lithos's society.

Other Dream Agents

These Gemlords are the analogy to the Covert Operations Corps, traveling throughout the realm of the Dream to check on the wholeness of an area, scout out potential problems and to help out those denizens of the Dream who may need help. Like the Covert Operations Corp, the Dream and Nightmare agents must follow the same single rule: You must not reveal to any culture anything that that culture doesn't already know about.

Many of these Gemlords have other talents and interests as well, being scientists, Healers, artists and so on, but are mostly known for their roles in walking among those who live in the Dream and keeping that part of the reality of the Cosmos safe and sound.
